Cristina Spechoto hired me in May 2022 with a proposal to Illustrate a gypsy tarot deck. Thirty-six cards that carry with them some of the unquantifiable wealth, symbolism, mysticism and culture of these people with such a complex and important history.
 
The main idea was to respect the sequence, themes and figures of the cards, but at the same time give the deck a new visual identity that was a little different from the material already circulating on the market. The first decision we made together was that the deck would be in black and white. From then on, we went letter by letter, talking about the symbols, discussing the elements and their meanings in the reading.
 
 It is important to say that despite being an admirer of gypsy culture and the tarot itself, my knowledge on the subject was quite limited... and then imagine how lucky I was: I had the delicious task of illustrating this precious and Furthermore, I could count on all of Cris' knowledge and experience, which was a fundamental part of the conceptual design of the deck.​​​​​​​

A Cris entrou em contato comigo em maio de 2022 trazendo a proposta maravilhosa de ilustrar um baralho de tarô cigano.

Trinta e seis cartas que carregassem consigo um pouco da riqueza inquantificável,  do simbolismo, do misticismo e da cultura desse povo com uma história tão complexa e ao mesmo tempo, tão importante.

A ideia principal era respeitar a ordem, os temas e as figuras das cartas, mas ao mesmo tempo conferir ao baralho uma nova identidade visual que fosse um pouco diferente do material que já circulava pelo mercado. 

A primeira decisão que tomamos em conjunto foi que o baralho seria em preto e branco. A partir daí fomos carta a carta conversando sobre as simbologias, discutindo sobre os elementos e seus significados na leitura.
