DANIEL CODESPOTI

Graduated from the Visual Arts Teaching course at Faculdade Santa Marcelina (FASM 2005), he has a relationship with drawing that began early on and was greatly influenced by the universe of comics and animations.

Here you will find a collection strongly influenced and inspired by the pop culture of Katsuhiro Otomo, Hayao Miyazaki, Masamune Shirow, and Yoshiaki Kawajiri. Also, by the works of Alberto Giacometti, Egon Schiele, Lucian Freud, Alphonse Mucha, H.R. Giger, and Cássio Loredano. Illustrations, layouts, collages, paintings, sculptures, and mixed midia.

 

"More than a form of expression, for me, art is an antidote to the emptiness of days, a healing process for the ills that inhabit my soul, and above all, the best way to connect with the world. It is what makes existence bearable and humanity a possibility beyond barbarism.

 

A channel for all my violence and a filter for our sordidness. It is the mirror that, over the years, reflects us inside out and shocks us with ruthless precision. Finally, if we are lucky, it can still be a glimpse to see life beyond reality, an apoteotic parade of absurdities, or the simple reason we needed to never return."
